Summary of Job Duties :

This 12-month tenure track position will help to establish a research-centered practice for the purpose of serving members of the community, training students, and collaborating with other disciplines.

A successful candidate for this tenure-track position will conduct and disseminate research in their area of expertise, demonstrate a strong commitment to training the next generation of occupational therapists, and seek external funding to support research and student training.

Candidates will also direct students’ independent research and capstone projects, advise graduate students, and chair or serve on doctoral committees.

Responsibilities will also include participating in public / professional service at the national level and engaging in service activities at the program, department, college, and university levels.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications :

Post-professional doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy or related field from a nationally recognized and accredited institution conferred by the time of appointment (ABD will be considered)

Demonstrated ability to teach multiple courses in the occupational therapy program ()

Demonstrated ability to develop and sustain a research agenda that supports the mission and vision of the OTD program

For candidates who are occupational therapists, eligibility for an occupational therapist license in the state of Arkansas (licensure must be obtained by the time of appointment)

Preferred Qualifications :

Expertise in research methods, health promotion, occupational science, occupational justice / advocacy, mental health practice, or health policy

At least two years of clinical practice experience

Occupational Therapist (Registered and Licensed)

Demonstrated participation in collaborative work or scholarly projects

Experience in innovative or community-based practice research

Current or past grant-funded scholarship

At least three years of experience as a full-time graduate faculty member with teaching responsibilities
