What You Will Do :
We are currently searching for a Scientific Program Analyst to ass ist the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) with their divisional program review activities .
The review process aims to assess whether past performance is appropriate for the scientific advancement of the field in the coming decade.
The review is meant to aid the Program Division in planning for the future through both self-evaluation and the e xpert advice of s ubject matter and other expertise on the Program Division Review Committee.
This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Bethesda, MD.
Establish and maintain data analytics tools for analysis .
Develop, update, and maintain information databases ( e.g., SharePoint sites ) and provide document retrieval support.
Design, perform and complete research projects, applying scientific knowledge to each project, and provide a detailed summary of goals and scope, milestones, and go / no - go decisions points .
Conduct literature searches in PubMed, Web of Science, and other information sources; manage references using bibliographic software .
Organize and analyze reports in a scientific area as assigned .
Research and evaluate the operation of the organization's scientific programs by reviewing and proofreading programmatic documents describing scientific and management issues and policies related to their designated program , tracking action items and tasks and r equest ing information from and provid ing responses to principal investigators , program staff , and others on scientific and programmatic issues .
Create scientific search criteria for locating scientific, program and related information on the internet and other means, including literature and database searches.
Prepare scientific and programmatic presentation materials for use at presentations and meetings .
Coordinate with strategic project leaders on the logistics annual in-person Committee meetings, monthly teleconferences or videoconferences, and similar meetings .
Perform logistical planning activities related to various scientific meetings, lectures, workshops inclu ding working with staff to i d entify k ey issues, providing deadline reminders to Program staff , and drafting, r e viewing a nd proofreading programmatic documents, such as conference agendas, meeting agendas, letters to presenters, etc.
Plan, organize and participate at a senior level in technical meetings and consultations by giving regular progress reports to sponsor and stakeholders .
Ensure that all aspects of the programs are tracked and reported, including drafting funding plans, monitoring key milestones and deliverables dates , and ensuring all individuals and partners involved are kept appraised of progress of integrated tasks and next steps .
Analyze and make recommendations for overall program improvement.
What You Will Need : Master’s degree
Master’s degree
At least five ( 5 ) years of experience with Program Review or Evaluation may include tasks like leading the development of the working group report or coordinating program review / evaluation reports.
Proficient in MS Office tools
What Would Be Nice To Have :
Knowledge of NIH grants and funding mechanisms beneficial
Strong oral and verbal communication skills
Ability to develop meeting agendas
Familiar with project management activities
Familiarity with using online repositories such as PubMed, EndNote, Scopus, QVR, iSearch, or NIH RePORTER
Experience with various data analysis tools such as R, SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) or SAS (Statistical Analysis System)
