Qualifications A passion for video games, writing, and a drive to grow within the industry Broad working knowledge of Gaming (including major AAA titles, Marvel & DC games, retro games, JRPGs, Pokémon, The Legend of Zelda, Persona, Final Fantasy, Nintendo, FromSoftware, Rockstar, and Tabletop) Up to date with new video game releases and video game news The ability to analyze content and pull directly from the source material to back up claims A sharp eye for grammatical details Excellent command of the English language Ability to write high-quality articles with swift turn-around times Comfortable working in an entirely virtual environment Should possess a general understanding of video game culture and strong research skills Responsibilities Write a minimum of 5 News stories per week in CBR’s house style (following the requisite training) This will include fact-checking, formatting, linking, and image sourcing / very basic editing (sizing, brightness, etc.

Brainstorm, pitch, and develop original content ideas that’ll be published on-site Accept and apply any / all feedback received by the editorial team Communicate openly and actively with the editorial team What CBR has to offer Fully remote write from wherever you’d like!
