MGC Contractors, Inc is looking for a Mechanical Superintendents to join our Utah Division.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Supervise production control and QA / QC processes.
- Coordinate with the project superintendent to build and manage the 3-week schedule.
- Coordinate with the project superintendent to oversee mechanical installation construction activities.
- Adhere to strict schedules and stay within budgets.
- Coordinate with the project superintendent to allocate and track time, equipment, materials, and personnel for task completion.
- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Identify critical issues and create solutions with the project superintendents.
- Supervise safety procedures that prevent unsafe behaviors and / or hazards.
- Any and all other duties assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position operates at professional construction sites, requiring the ability to communicate verbally with others on site, in person and over the telephone.
- The ability to read printed materials, signs and directions. The stamina to maintain attention despite interruptions, ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery and / or controls weighing up to 50 pounds and reach with hands and arms;
climb stairs and / or ladders; balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, traverse around or otherwise position one's self around the required work and safety requirements to navigating and perform activities on various construction sites in a safe manner.
The position requires working outside, frequently for long periods of time in all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
While working, the employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust / debris.
POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Occasional overtime, weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in water and wastewater plant work.
- Proficient in reading plans and understanding layouts.
- Proficient in all piping, above ground and underground installations (i.e. ductile iron, steel, PVC, and HDPE piping systems).
- Proficient in the installation of plant equipment (i.e. fine screens, belt presses, clarifiers, fine bubble diffuser systems, blowers, pumps).
- Proficient in process piping / tubing and instrumentation installation (i.e. chemical lines, NPW, and PW lines).
- Proficient in miscellaneous metals installations (i.e. handrails, stairs, landings, etc.).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Proficient with Bluebeam Revu.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, and quick response time to inquiries.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
