The Department of Psychiatry at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center (MHMMC) and the MaineHealth Medical Group seek a board-certified Psychiatrist to join our Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Service in Portland.
Successful candidates will be gifted clinician-educators committed to identifying and treating psychiatric illness and substance use disorders in an inpatient medical setting, and excited to work with a team of like-minded colleagues.
The Consultation Liaison (C / L) Psychiatry Service at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland (MHMMCP) is an interdisciplinary team comprised of Psychiatrists, Nurse Practitioners, Social Workers, Nurses and learners.
We provide consultation services to MHMMCP inpatients. Candidates will join our inpatient hospital psychiatric team, with responsibilities on the Consultation Liaison service and the Acute Psychiatric Unit in the Emergency Department.
Our service is highly valued by colleagues and stakeholders. In addition to clinical care, the C / L Psychiatry Service is a major teaching resource for MaineHealth Maine Medical Center.
We provide training experiences for adult psychiatry residents, Tufts University School of Medicine and other medical students, and trainees in other fields.

The Emergency Department at Maine Medical Center comprises 63 beds, including an embedded 6-bed secure Acute Psychiatry Unit.
