As a Senior Software Engineer on the Agent AI team, you’ll be partnering with a highly skilled group of applied scientists, software developers, and machine learning engineers working together toward a bold and ambitious goal.

The Agent and Loan Officer AI team at Zillow is focused on making real estate agents, loan officers, and the buyers they are helping have a smoother and more delightful experience.

We build end-to-end applications and AI-driven services that help agents and loan officers use their time more efficiently, giving them more insight into how to help each buyer they are interacting with, and by using machine learning tools like Large Language Models to help them communicate more effectively with home buyers.

About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Sr Software Development Engineer with data engineering experience to aid in designing and delivering AI-powered experiences.

You Will Get To :

  • Collaborate with team members from diverse domains : product, data, and science
  • Design, implement, and document technical solutions (API services, ETL workflows) that are scalable, performant, maintainable, and secure
  • Promote operational efficiency by establishing benchmarks in software design, implementing automated testing, and observability mechanisms
  • Provide leadership that helps navigate the team through complicated technical challenges
  • Support the growth and development of individuals and the team through interviewing, onboarding, and mentorship

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. Remote employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company.

U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York and Washington the standard base pay range for this role is $156,300.

00 - $249,700.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York and Washington and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.

Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

Our ideal candidate would meet the following requirements :

  • 5+ years of software development experience implementing scalable service infrastructure and productionalizing machine learning methods
  • Comfortable in a small team / fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable contributing across the stack, including backend services, ETL pipelines, and product front-end.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, principles, architecture, and operations
  • Independently crafted and built scalable and reliable ETL, services, and pipelines, using Python / Flask / FastAPI / etc, Next.

js, Kafka, Flink, Kubeflow, Spark, etc.

  • Fluent in languages such as Python, Java, and Javascript.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Nice to have :
  • Experience with building applications using Generative AI or Large Language Models and related technologies
  • Excitement about how to unlock the power of AI for real estate professionals.
