Summary :
This position is responsible for providing daily oversight of the Interim Healthcare Rockville regional office. Through competent application of the nursing process and use of accepted best nursing practices, the Nursing Supervisor provides and directs the provision of customized in home care based on agency and facility policies and procedures and state and federal mandates for a residential service agency.
Reporting :
This position reports to Interim Director of Clinical Operations.
Essential Functions :
- Client services
- Responsible for performing client assessments in the personal setting.
- Responsible for all documentation required for the individual client and maintenance of both the EHR and hard copy charts as needed.
- Effectively communicates with the Interim regional team as well as Ingleside campus committees to assist in the coordination of services for IAH clients.
- Reviews monthly billing with Director of Operations for documentation accuracy.
2. Staff supervision
Provides direct supervision of all licensed and certified staff to include CNAs, GNAs, CMTs, CMAs, HHAs, and PCAs per agency policy and procedure in accordance with state and federal guideline.
- Coordinates with Director of Operations in planning and implementing new hire orientation, in-service training and continuing education for Interim Healthcare staff.
- Oversight of all staff documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
3. Leadership and Management
Works with Interim Healthcare Operations Director to assist in promotion of the regional marketing plan to include assistance at marketing events, networking meetings and referral source interactions as assigned.
- Assists in the development and administration of an Interim Healthcare regional educational program for staff.
- Assists in the evaluation of technology and its role in the Interim Healthcareregional program and assist with implementation of the same.
- Along with IAH Clinical Director participates in the Interim Healthcare QI committee and process.
- Assists in the rotation of administrative call and supports Interim HealthcareCoordinator if back up nursing call is warranted.
4. Communication / Documentation
Interfaces with Campus Department Directors and Managers professionally and effectively utilizing techniques which build and support teams.
- Interfaces with Corporate structure as needed to assist with new product line innovation.
- Provides oversight and maintenance of client records.
- Keeps Clinical Director informed of progress related to the Interim Healthcare regional program.
- Review and complete clinical record documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory standards per facility requirements or those of the individual client.
5. Professional Development
Determines Interim Healthcare Regional Best Practices and Innovation through professional organizations / groups related to the field.
- Participates in in-service, projects, or committees as assigned.
- Maintains all certifications necessary for employment.
- Maintains a current knowledge of federal, state and other regulations applicable to job.
Qualifications / Licensure :
- Must have an active Registered Nurse License in good standing with the Board of Nursing within the position’s jurisdictional practice location,
- Ability to successfully collaborate with the Interim Healthcare Leadership Team to develop and grow the home and community based services program.
- Highly experienced in providing exceptional customer service to geriatric clients and interacting with their support systems.
- Ability to lead and communicate effectively.
- Must be able to safely and successfully perform job-related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law.
- Maintains professional presence when representing Interim Healthcare at Home; exhibits degree of professionalism consistent with standards in performance, behavior, and appearance.
- Performs those duties assigned effectively and in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior with clients, families, co-workers, subordinates, supervisors, and other department staff.
Education / Experience :
- State licensure as an RN in good standing.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in home care, long term care or home health preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive nursing leadership, preferably in a home care or home health setting.
