Provide nursing practice expertise, education, consultation, and research activities to ensure achievement of quality patient outcomes through leadership and advanced nursing knowledge / practice.
This includes oversight of performance on nursing sensitive indicators in all practice sites as well as collaboration to design, implement, and evaluate the impact of evidence-based practice and research initiatives on patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications :
- Minimum of five years of experience as a professional nurse with progressive leadership experience required.
- Master's degree in nursing required.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills including public speaking required.
- Knowledge of systems and change theory, individual and group behaviors, teaching and learning principals, and research / outcomes required.
- Knowledge of financial processes, word processing, database management, and informatics required.
- Ability to balance and prioritize diverse clinical and leadership responsibilities required.
- Knowledge of national, regional, and local health care policies and societal forces affecting the delivery of health care required.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).
- APRN licensure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist required.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist preferred.
- Staff development experience preferred.
- Proficiency with information systems, telecommunication devices, office equipment and supplies, educational materials and software, audiovisual equipment, policy, procedure, and protocol manuals, current reference books and periodicals, and patient care equipment as appropriate to specialty area preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) department dependent required, Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PTLS), Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) OR other advanced life support training as appropriate to specialty preferred.
- Professional certification in specialty area preferred.
