Description

Job Summary

Manages and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in maintaining the physical plant. Establishes standards for work and equipment use and maintenance.

Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.

Develops and administers schedules and performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities. Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisor, customers and / or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units or customers and the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for managing the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings and other facilities.

Plans, budgets and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs.

Oversees the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services and facility expansion.

Acts as liaison to public utility, environmental and energy agencies.

Oversees and directs maintenance personnel and workers engaged in equipment installation, facilities equipment repair and preventive maintenance.

Tracks all assets and work performed using CMMS or other tools.

Responsible for managing services including janitorial / custodial, landscape, generator, boiler, chiller, HVAC, air handlers, cooling towers and other services as required.

Will work with and support Environmental, health & safety management, plant security, HR and other support organizations.

Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance;

rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

May also provide guidance to lower-level Supervisors / Managers.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees;

planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

May also provide guidance to lower level Supervisors / Managers.

Education and / or Experience :

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of directly related experience and / or training;

or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills :

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills :

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills :

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be knowledgeable in using software conducive to presenting analytical results, such as charts, graphs, and presentations using Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.

Other Essential Duties

Follows all import / export requirements, consulting with facility import / export personnel as required.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Basic Knowledge of ISO and / or AS9100
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / 6 Sigma / Kaizen
  • Knowledge of specific software (design, analysis, ERP )

Other Qualifications

  • US Citizenship with ability to attain / maintain government security clearance.
  • Ability to travel (domestically / internationally) approximately + / -10 %
