Special Education Lead Facilitator (K-12 / Building)
This position will be split between Osage Creek Elementary School and Creekside Middle School.
This position is for a 1 year contract for the 2024-2025 school year only.

Position Purpose
The purpose of this position is to work with the District Special Education Coordinator and Building Administration to ensure compliant practices and support effective teaching and learning for students with disabilities.
Essential Functions
- Establish a rapport and assist parents / guardians of students with disabilities with understanding due process guidelines / paperwork / IDEA Parents Rights
- Maintain accurate special education records and informationMonitor due process paperwork for accuracy and compliance Maintain special education files electronically Monitor caseloads / numbers and per period numbers Coordinate completion of annual parent surveys / annual special education and DESE required reports Submit accurate High Cost / warm body counts / staffing reports
- Support building administrationAssist building administration and counselors with ensuring accurate data used for class course requests and scheduling Participate in schools crisis response teams Assist building staff with Pre- Kindergarten transitions (Elementary School), building to building transitions and Transition Planning (Secondary School) Work with special education staff, school counselors, district transition specialist and district curriculum specialists to ensure student schedules and groupings align with special education services, IEP goals, and transition plans Work with special education teachers to continually review progress monitoring data and ensure data is reported in the district spreadsheet by established due dates Collaborate with District Special Education Leadership to enlist support for teachers who need assistance in curriculum, instruction, and transition planning Attend Sped required training / meetings Assist with Special Education PLC Meetings Assist building administration / testing coordinator with administration of standardized testing and alternative testing Assist administration with development of schedules for special education paraprofessionals within the building Support new special education teachers
- Other essential dutiesAssist with dissemination of information from District Special Education Office / Central Office Provide trainings on Special Education issues including : IEPs, electronic records, accommodations / modifications, and due process compliance Meet with District Special Education Leadership on a scheduled basis Under the guidance and direction of the District Special Education Leadership, ensure campus staff have the instructional resources, materials and training needed for their classroom assignment Assist campus psych examiner with MDRs, dispute resolution and behavior support
Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the School Principal, District Special Education Leadership and other Central Office Administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Equipment
Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.
Travel Requirements
Travels to school buildings and professional meetings as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of state and federal special education laws, rules and guidelines
- Knowledge and skills in completing special education due process paperwork
- Successful special education teaching experience, preferred
- Evidence of strong organizational skills
- Evidence of strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in basic computer programs (Google Suite) needed for successful job performance (others could include APSCN, TRIAND, eSchool, special education software)
- Knowledge and skills in leading collaborative team meetings as part of the PLC process
- Knowledge and skills in the implementation of Universal Design for Learning, Differentiated Instruction, Scaffolding, High Leverage Practices, and other inclusive supports
- Successful experience in supporting and coaching adult learners

Certification / License
Arkansas State Certification as teacher in an area that meets the position’s essential duties and responsibilities
Education
Degree in Special Education or related field; MSE / Admin preferred
Experience
Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level is a plus.
