Welcome to Advance Plumbing & Heating Supply Company, a fourth-generation family owned and operated business, started in 1920.

The company's original location was at 2984 Grand River Ave. in Detroit, across from the Motor City Casino. On October 31st, 2016 we moved to our new location at 150 Parsons St.

in Midtown Detroit. The new state-of-the-art location features the City of Detroit's first ever Decorative Plumbing Showroom which opened in winter of 2018.

In 1990, with a solid reputation for excellence and an expanding market, Advance opened up a second location in Walled Lake, Michigan which features a state-of-the-art 5,000-square foot decorative plumbing showroom and an outstanding plumbing & heating parts counter.

What You’ll Do :

Advance Plumbing stocks over 13,000 items from pipes, valves and fittings to faucets, sinks, shower products, water heaters and much more in order to serve the customer in a timely manner.

The ability to provide the products customers' need, when they need them has remained a staple throughout the Advance Plumbing history.

We are seeking a Warehouse Manager to join our team and manage our warehouses in Detroit, MI . This professional multitasker will manage and oversee the receiving, handling, storing, picking, and packing activities within the warehouse, ensuring quality standards are met at every turn.

The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail oriented, and able to track multiple facets of the warehouse at any given time.

You must achieve inventory accuracy, and coordinate orders, ultimately overseeing the fulfillment of millions of product orders every year.

Some Duties May Include :

o Supervise daily operations, including managing inventory and logistics, quality assurance, floor productivity and customer service

o Ensure the preparation of all shipping materials for deliveries while reviewing inbound and outbound freight

o Coordinate with service counters and relevant departments

o Utilize internal and external warehouse management systems or shipment software

o Complete the maintenance of company-owned vehicles, property and warehouse equipment

o Meet regularly with leadership team to review, analyze and develop concise action plans for productivity and loss prevent relevant towards operational goals

o Ensure a high-quality output through the accuracy of processes, tasks and work product

o Some travel may be required

What You Need to Get the Job Done :

o Lift up to 50 pounds

o Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts

o Use carts, dollies, pallet jack or forklift, and other gear to move items around

o Proficient knowledge of warehouse procedures and inventory management

o Analyze business metrics, plan and schedule departmental activities that align with organizational objectives

o Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities

o Ability to frequently deliver written and oral feedback

o Proficient with related computer systems such as Microsoft Office and internal ERP systems

Requirements :

o 3-5 years of operational warehousing, logistics and supply chain experience

o High School Diploma or GED equivalent

o Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or business-related concentration preferred
