SCC invites qualified candidates to apply for a temporary full-time position of Biology Faculty - Spring 2025. This is a one semester appointment only.
Responsibilities include teaching non-majors biology courses (Human Biology, Essentials of Biology, and / or Anatomy and Physiology), and contributing service to the Department and College at the department, division and college-wide level.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing student performance in coordination with other members of the Biology department to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and student learning.
Faculty responsibilities :
- 15 credit hour teaching load
- effective teaching and learning and course assessment responsibilities
- and other college service
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Master's degree in Biology or a related discipline is required, Ph.D. preferred. Preferred candidates will have experience teaching at the college level, teaching online, will have experience in using molecular biology techniques, will promote / develop student research-based instructional activities, will demonstrate and embrace the use of technology in teaching, and will maintain the highest possible standards in classroom and laboratory instruction and assessment.

Minimum Annual Salaries : Instructor $58,315 Assistant Professor $64,238, Associate Professor $70,620
