Job Description

We're in a unique position to disrupt the healthcare industry and as a Senior React Native Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust, secure, and performant React Native applications for our patient population that improve clinical outcomes.

This collaborative role requires a strong competency in React Native and demonstrated knowledge of common mobile practices.

React Native Engineer's are proficient technically, have a passion for learning and teaching others, tinkering with new tech, and a strong desire to own solutions that make an impact for our patients.

• Built a shared feature library to bridge two applications together
• Created a shared component library in React Native that covers multiple brands
• Create & maintain mobile CICD pipelines for several mobile applications
• Deprecate existing cross-platform libraries written with Flutter & Kotlin Multiplatform

What you might do in your first year :

• Migrate multiple mobile applications to a shared mobile architecture, consolidating our platform and increasing engineering efficiency.
• Create foundational architectures and patterns to accelerate the delivery of new features and products to our patients.
• Develop a release strategy for mobile applications, enabling over-the-air updates to ensure seamless, continuous delivery.
• Lead engineering projects from conceptual design through implementation, deployment, and maintenance.
• Expand our component and token libraries to support web, enhancing cross-platform compatibility.
• Collaborate with other teams to develop integrated solutions that leverage the strengths of different technologies and disciplines.

Required Skills :

• 7+ years of experience in mobile development, with a strong focus on React Native.
• Proven track record of building and scaling mobile applications.
• Expertise in TypeScript, including models, types, and best practices with ESLint.
• Experience in collaborative team settings, working with cross-functional teams to design and implement frontend features.
• Proficiency in using version control systems, such as Git, with platforms like GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
• Demonstrated ability to commercialize software, ensuring it meets market needs and achieves business goals.
• Educational background : BS / MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or a related field.

Preferred Skills :

• Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular, which will aid in future web development projects.
• Proficiency in native mobile technologies like Swift and Kotlin, which will be helpful as we transition from our existing platforms.
• Experience designing micro frontend systems for both mobile or web platforms.
• Knowledge of healthcare data protocols, including Oauth 2.0 authentication, and best practices in handling PHI (Protected Health Information).
• Acknowledgement of the universal fact that server-side rendering is superior

For Colorado Residents only : This is an exempt position. The base compensation range for this role is $130,000 to $150,000.

At VillageMD, compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc.

The selected candidate will be eligible for a valuable company benefits plan, including health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and access to a 401k plan.
