Piper Companies is currently seeking an Operations Supervisor, Microbiology to support a global food safety, and quality company in Arlington, TX

Responsibilities of the Operations Supervisor, Microbiology

• Supervise departmental personnel in conducting routine food sample analysis, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Communicate client requirements to laboratory personnel and address procedural or operational difficulties with client service personnel.
• Read, calculate, and record analysis data, correcting discrepancies to produce accurate client reports.
• Administer corporate human resource programs related to recruitment, retention, compensation, training, and development.
• Educate and train departmental personnel on procedures and new analysis methods, recommending modifications as needed.
• Arrange work schedules, assist with analysis tasks, and maintain supplies and instrumentation for operating departments.
• Cease specific analyses when quality system evidence indicates a compromised process, in collaboration with Operations Manager or Lab Director.
• Maintain knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and ensure employees are adequately trained.
• Attend relevant seminars, stay updated on food science developments, and support corporate quality and continuous improvement processes.

Qualifications of the Operations Supervisor , Microbiology

• Proven experience in laboratory operations and supervision.
• In-depth knowledge of food sample analysis, Standard Operating Procedures, and human resource management.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot procedural and operational challenges.
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Continuous learning mindset and commitment to quality improvement.
