Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Adhere to all company rules, policies, and procedures.
- Read blueprints and job routers to obtain tight dimensions and tolerances on machined hardware. (Tolerances consistently at .0005 -.005 )
- Perform machine set ups with different styles of tooling (i.e. boring soft / hard jaws, collet chucks, specialty tooling, etc.)
- Machine and deliver high quality, complex parts for Aerospace industry using materials such as Hastelloy, Inconel, 17-4 PH, etc.
- Program machine to set specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut in accordance with material specifications and tooling guidelines.
- Appropriately measure all finished parts utilizing portable CMM, calipers, bore gages, pins, micrometers, etc.) before moving part to the next operation.
- Assist CNC Programming with troubleshooting, best practice operation, and unique fixturing solutions to achieve a high quality, profitable part.
- Review and complete all required documentation and time entry within ERP system for proper scheduling requirements.
- Participate in and complete all mandatory overtime, including Saturday and Sunday, as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by Aerodyn management
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of machinist experience in a R&D manufacturing environment
- Aerospace industry experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with the capabilities / limitations of all conventional / CNC machines and welding equipment
- Knowledge of G & M code programming : Mastercam / NX
- Must have a strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrate the ability to develop creative solutions to problems.
- Must be self-directed and able to deliver under pressure, meeting customer and management deadlines
- Must be a highly motivated self-starter comfortable operating independently and with a team
- Must demonstrate ability to act professionally
- Minimum travel required
