The Pathologists Assistant is responsible forthe preparation gross description and dissection of surgicalpathology specimens and the performance of postmortem examinationsunder the medical direction of the pathologist(s) whileimplementing the hospital and laboratory missions goals andobjectives.
Additional Requirements :
- Independent judgment andinitiative are required to schedule organize and planwork.
- Responsible for care and accuracy in thecollection and labeling of specimens.
- Flexibility and adaptability in emergencies includingworking additional hours or shifts.
- Ability towork efficiently accurately and alertly for extended periods andunder stress.
- Knowledge of HIS and LISassorted laboratory instrumentation appropriate to the scope ofposition and dependent upon current technology.

- PreviousPathology Assistant experience current to 12 months Required
- MUST be competent in performingFROZEN SECTIONS GROSSING BIOPSIES AND LARGE COMPLEXSPECIMENS
- Bachelor Degree Required(Masters Preferred)
- NY PA LicenseRequired
