The person in this position will have experience in residential care or independent living and will understand the laws and regulations as related to the dependency system.
The emphasis is on assessing and providing groups on job skills, self-support, daily living skills, continued educational support, transportation and tracking and assessing the adolescent’s needs through the Ansell Casey assessments.
As the schedule for the residents varies and can be unpredictable, it is also necessary that the Case Manager work a varying work week which may include evenings and weekends.
This position requires flexibility in duties and assignments. This is a salaried position that requires 40 hours of work a week.
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Level Education in the Human Services Field preferred, or
- Five years prior experience working with at risk adolescents and young adults

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Florida Driver's License
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedule, coordinate, track and facilitate all Independent Living staffing
- Provide consultation and partner with Therapists, and Residential Child Care Workers to support teens enrolled in the independent living program
- Maintain current in the Independent Living laws and regulations through trainings, conferences, frequent visitation of relevant child welfare websites and coordination with other independent living professionals
- Responsible for monitoring and supporting auxiliary services rendered to the adolescents
- Facilitates groups and individual sessions as needed on gaining independent living skills
- Use clinical skills to assess for emotional intelligence and life skills in order to develop appropriate goals and expectations for the program and through adulthood
- Coordinate community resources as needed by the adolescents.
- Search for suitable job openings on campus and with area businesses
- Coordinate driving lessons for the youth and young adults, and assist the youth and young adults in getting their permits
- Creates a work schedule for the youth employed on campus
- Facilitate the Youth Independent Living advisory Board.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Case Manager participates in team meetings
- The Case Manager will participate in in-service training that is required by regulatory entities and as assigned by the Independent Living Director
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Case Manager supervisory responsibilities include the supervision of the Barber, and the Residential Child Care Specialist in Cosmetology
