Job Summary :

The Senior Engineer, Electrical is responsible for the development of electronic hardware within Kaney and the sustainment of legacy electronic products for aerospace and medical applications.

This engineer should have experience in at least some of the following categories : analog circuit design, digital circuit design, circuit board design, instrumentation, electro-magnetics, power electronics, controls and dynamic simulation.

Major Responsibilities :

  • Troubleshooting of circuits, circuit boards and electrical actuators
  • Development of simulation models in MATLAB / Simulink or other tools
  • Developing schematics using Kaney electrical CAD tools
  • Developing custom cable and harness designs
  • Develop and validate circuit designs, schematics, and PCB layouts
  • Optimize designs for performance and cost-effectiveness
  • Analyze test results and make necessary design adjustments to address performance issues or improve functionality
  • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of designs, test results, and engineering changes

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other related discipline
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical engineering
  • Proven track record of working on complex projects and teams
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other Engineers
  • Experience with a circuit simulation tool, such as SPICE, Cadence, etc.
  • Expertise in electrical circuit design and analog and digital electronics
  • Experience using lab equipment such as multi-meters and oscilloscopes

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with Altium Designer
  • Simulation Experience (e.g. MATLAB, Simulink, SPICE)
  • Experience taking measurements with differential voltage probes, hall-effect current sensors and current transformers
  • Experience with Data Acquisition Systems
  • Experience with Hardware in the Loop Testing
  • Laboratory experience
  • Exposure to aircraft systems
  • Experience with aerospace standards (e.g., DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, Mil standards)

Operational Details / Work Environment :

  • Work activities may be performed at Company facilities or at the facilities of the company’s customers
  • Work will be performed both in an office environment and in a laboratory environment
  • Travel to customer site may be required
  • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) may be required in some workspaces
