WSP is a global consulting firm that assists public and private clients in planning, developing, designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining thousands of critical infrastructure projects worldwide.

We are dedicated to safeguarding sensitive information and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Information Protection Specialist to join our Global IT Security team and help us maintain the highest standards of information security.

This role can be based out of any WSP USA office.

Your impact

Specific areas of responsibility may fall into any one of the following areas of data classification and labeling and information protection :

  • Implement and manage information protection strategies using Microsoft Purview Information Protection.
  • Develop, enforce, and maintain data classification and labeling policies to ensure sensitive information is properly protected.
  • Monitor and respond to information protection incidents, ensuring timely resolution and mitigation.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of information protection controls and policies.
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to integrate information protection measures into existing systems and workflows.
  • Provide training and support to employees on information protection best practices and policies.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in information protection and data security.
  • Identify gaps in current solution (e.g., MS Purview) identify additional tooling required.
  • Configure solution to enable automated and manual sensitive data labelling for M365 apps and services (incl. configuring mail flow rules).
  • Prioritize and onboard data sources for scanning (e.g., structured, unstructured data across applications, databases, file shares, cloud storage).

Leadership and People Responsibilities :

  • Develop positive working relationships with other team members and business partners and partners across teams to align with WSPs internal and external client demands.
  • Provide feedback on the governance process for continued improvement.

Finance / Budgetary Responsibilities :

  • Provide feedback on tooling and identify additional needs.
  • Plan for expanse of security tools to cover ongoing needs.
  • Evaluation of license usage and potential growth.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Sciences, or related field.
  • 5 to 7+ years related experience in Information Protection or similar related position.
  • Proficiency in Information Protection tools and software (MS Purview). Familiarity with machine learning concepts is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with IT Governance frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL and ISO 2700x, NIST.
  • Experience with governance, compliance, and audit within IT environments.
  • Experience of risk management, including risk analysis, mitigation, and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of information security regulations applicable to WSP.

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations) : $83,200 - $145,530

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.

WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and / or federal law.
