Chief Ops Engineer

Job Description

Targeted Annual Pay Range : Minimum of $90,000.00 to a maximum of $100,000.00

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Manages day to day operations of the Southeast, Main or St. Paul Steam Heating Plant.
• Schedules plant maintenance / outages, including plant walkdowns with potential bidders.
• Responsible for plant procurement and adherence to Company policies and procedures relating to same.
• Responsible for approving employee timecards, along with allocating their schedules.
• Assist with the annual Business and Financial Planning efforts to be presented to Veolia management.
• Ensure the safe and reliable operation of the steam plants.

Work Environment : Primary schedule consists of Monday through Friday daytime hours, with paid holidays. Emergency and special conditions may involve weekends, holidays and unscheduled hours.

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background

• High school graduate or equivalent as a minimum. Bachelor’s or higher baccalaureate degree preferable.
• Five years of work in a large, high pressure steam heating plant or in high pressure boiler operation. Supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Chief Engineer Grade A stationary engineer’s license, State of Minnesota.

Required Certification / Licenses / Training

• Current and valid driver’s license.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment physical after a conditional job offer has been made.
• Must successfully complete drug and alcohol screening as required.
