Franklin Twp YMCA is looking for great individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of the school aged children in our communities.
Becoming an After School Counselor will give you an opportunity to expand on skills you will need later on in life including leadership, communication, problem solving, and more.
This job is fully on-site, not remote.
The SACC Counselor will assist the Site Supervisor and will help the children with homework, create a fun and safe environment, and bring new ideas and games to the program.
You will have experience working with children and will need to be comfortable handling difficult situations as needed. You will also have the ability to learn and think critically and quickly to handle situations as they arise.
Main Functions :
- Create and maintain a fun environment for children to work and play productively and comfortably, and have full access to all necessary materials
- Demonstrate leadership and be a positive influence and role model to colleagues and staff.
- Assist Site Supervisor in the opening and closing of the site on a daily basis
- Communicate issues related to students to Site Supervisor & Program Director
- With Site Supervisor, support parent / family communication and follow-up
- Supervise and manage daily snack
- Maintain and track supplies for programs and activities including equipment and program supplies; administrative supplies;
and first aid equipment
- Ensure implementation of the health and safety policies that pertain to program participants and staff at all times, including follow through on all incident reports and document filing
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
- Support efforts of promotion and publicity of all YMCA programs
- Ensure that all Emergency Procedures are carried out in accordance with Franklin Twp YMCA procedures
- Ensure that program provides a positive image of the YMCA within the community, in accordance with the mission and philosophy of Franklin Twp YMCA

Claremont School : 7am-9 : 30am
Conerly Rd School : 7am-9am
Franklin Park School : 7am-9am
Hillcrest School : 7am- 9am
MacAfee Rd School : 7am-9 : 30am
Elizabeth Ave School : 7am-9 : 30am
Monday Friday (Aftercare)
Claremont School : 3 : 30pm-6pm
Conerly Rd School : 2 : 45pm- 6pm
Franklin Park School : 2 : 45-6pm
Hillcrest School : 2 : 45pm- 6pm
MacAfee Rd School : 3 : 30pm- 6pm
Elizabeth Ave School : 3 : 30pm-6pm
