Summary :
The Application System Analyst I serves as a liaisonbetween system end-users (customers), operational leaders,additional support resources and vendors to design, build andoptimize their assigned applications in a timely and high-qualitymanner.
The Systems Analyst I will provide application support andoptimization. They work closely with the Service Desk to assist inresponding to service requests.
The Application System Analyst Imust be able to analyze business issues / requirements and workflowsand apply their application knowledge to meet operational andorganizational needs.
Project implementation responsibilitiesinclude collaborating with customers contributing to the analysis,testing, and documentation and implementation of medium to highcomplexity activities of assigned software.
This position mustpossess sufficient detailed healthcare knowledge and systemsexpertise to implement medium to high complexity assignedapplication with minimal guidance.
The Associate must be aself-motivated individual with exceptional communication andinterpersonal skills and the ability to work well in teamenvironments.
- Analyze,develop, test, document, educate, implement, support, and maintainor optimize assigned applications, solutions and business processesto meet operational and technicalrequirements.
- Collaborates across projectborders with other teams. Thinks outside the box and proposespractical solutions to issues.
Communicates interdependencies withproject leadership to proactively ensure quality andinteroperability of design, configuration.
- Applies basic understanding of information technology, includingsystems, applications, operations, and support. Utilizesapplication training, application web site and application resourcematerials regularly and effectively.
- Clearyunderstands customer needs and expectations. Accurately documentsbusiness processes and workflows; communicates these with projectteam and stakeholders.
Maintains a working level understanding ofassigned department operations, processes, andenvironment.
- Provides clear and organizedstatus reporting on key project areas to be used as externalcommunications to stakeholders.
- Performs basicprocess and requirement analysis, including process mapping thoughcurrent flow charts, documents, requirement elicitation, andspecification gathering in support of root cause problem solvingand negotiating creative solutions.
In addition, using current andprojected data, provides recommendations in assigned application.Responsible for completing basic gap analysis, and providingrecommendations.
Consistently follows up withend users. Able to ask the right questions to obtain understandingof end user issues and needs.
Seeks information from others whenend user issues appear to pose significantrisks.
Demonstrates decision making based onfacts (vs assumptions); Routinely researches multiple avenues toidentify viable options.
Contributes to strategy discussions byidentifying options with associated pros and cons with teammembers.
- Adhere to organization standards forsystem configuration and change control.
- Demonstrates core technical proficiency in application. Able toindependently design and configure application. Has a basicunderstanding of and performs fact / data gathering and analysis withlimited direction.
Designs basic workflows. Begins to demonstratemastery of at least one application.
- Collaborate and develop strong relationships with end usercommunities, customers and business partners.
- Collaborate with Operational Leaders to focus on standardized bestpractice workflow processes and content to ensure alignment acrossall ministries, to create efficiencies, and to ensure optimaloperational processes.
- Coordinates codechanges with appropriate vendor related to financial and businessapplication issues.
- Collaborates withTechnical Team to identify and infrastructure related issues thathave resulted in application issues.
- Shareindustry best practices from vendors with OperationalLeaders.
- Demonstrates increasing technicalknowledge of the assigned application including relationships ofinfrastructure and impact to user ifunavailable.
- Serves as a liaison betweenbusiness operations and providers, internal information technology,system users and vendors working within the defined projectobjectives for issue and problem resolution.
- Follows strict change management processes ensuring properapproval, testing, and validation of systemchanges.
- Written documentation requiresminimal to no edits, has the confidence of the requestors andproject team.
- Associate is able to recognizehe / her skills, habits, work ethic, and behaviors and use them tomanage his / her work.
Associate is able to receive and processconstructive feedback and affect adjustments to his / her skills,habits, work ethics or behaviors in a positiveway.
- Proactively and independentlytroubleshoot and resolve minor incidents andrequests.
- Completes task with attention todetail and high level of quality. Performs self-review processprior to completion. Design configuration require minimaladditional QA by peer or lead analyst.
- Manageslow to medium complexity projects / requests. Collaborates with teammembers as needed.
- Complete in a timely mannerassigned courses within Healthstream, other electronic trackingtools for educational related material or attend presentations inperson as assigned.
- Ensure the services thathe / she provides contribute to the successful accomplishment of theprimary mission of the department.
- Ensuresvendors meet agreed upon SLAs and followprocesses.
- May be required to travel toperform duties.
- May be required to workadditional hours as needed during criticalproblems.
- Identifies and seizes newopportunities, displays can-do attitude in good and bad times andsteps up to handle tough issues.
- Performsother duties as assigned.
Requirements :
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred witha focus in healthcare, business, or information systems.
- Ability to present complex data in meaningfulmethod, i. e., charts, graphs

- 1+ Yearsof experience within healthcare, business, or information systemsdiscipline

For EpicAnalysts :
- Certified or proficient in assigned Epic module(must be obtained within 6 months of employmentdate)
- Certifications or Proficiencies must staycurrent by maintaining new version training
