Code Ninjas - Early Childhood STEM Teacher - (Canton, Michigan area)
Code Ninjas (Canton, MI) is looking for an Early Childhood STEM Lead Teacher (part-time) onsite to join our team! Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and engaged individual who exercises traditional excellence in working with children (ages 5-14).
We are looking for someone who strives for satisfaction, and serves as a role model for teaching excellence to other assistant instructors while fostering an engaging learning environment.
The Lead Teacher will be a vital part of the operation and success of the Canton, MI branch and should possess a great work ethic and traditional excellence.
Hours of operation will be Monday to Friday 2 : 30 pm to 7 : 00 pm and optional Saturdays (10 : 00 AM to 2 : 00 PM).
Form supportive relationships with parents while also building a strong educational foundation for the children in your care while managing other teaching instructors under your supervision while working in conjunction with Center Manager.
You lead your team daily in conducting, planning exciting lessons, and educational activities supported by our curriculum, and make every day a new adventure in learning! Enjoy learning new STEM-based learning programs and mold the curriculum to engage and excite students!

REQUIREMENTS
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Associates Degree or above (preferred) with a strong preference for STEM-based background (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
- A valid CDA or an Associates in Early Childhood Education or related field, or credits within the early childhood field.
- Prior classroom experience in one of the following - Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, Primary education (grades 1-5) (prior classroom experience strongly preferred)
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
- Successful completion of a background check
- Proven work history with children ages 5 and up, and enthusiasm for working with kids.
- Familiarity with technology, Microsoft Suite, social media, office equipment, and willingness to learn new technologies for management & administration
- Positive, professional attitude, very reliable individual , and ability to adapt
- Must be fun to work with and enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with coaching & managing staff and working with students and parents
- Experience in a school setting with school-age children
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing and enhancing the existing STEM-based curriculum and teaching children 5-14
- Meeting the individual needs of children and maintaining classroom discipline and excellence for classroom size of 12+
- Supervising and directing assistant Sensei's on achieving classroom excellence
- Parent communication and issue resolution
- Participation in staff and training meetings
- Designing appropriate curriculums and activities to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom and enhance the learning experience to be fun & engaging
- Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning
- Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child’s age and developmental level
- Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem and social skills
- Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff
- Building teamwork and managing subordinate senseis
- Using assessment tools
- Committing to continuing education
