City of Colorado City Economic Development Director-PT

Part-Time Economic Development Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing economic development strategies to promote growth and diversification of the local economy in Colorado City, TX.

This position will work closely with city officials, local businesses, and community organizations to create and maintain a vibrant economic environment.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for economic development in the city.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for business attraction, retention, and expansion.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local business leaders in the city and county, community organizations, and regional economic development partners.
  • Promote the city as a business-friendly location through marketing and outreach efforts.
  • Provide support to existing businesses and facilitate connections to resources and incentives.
  • Prepare and present reports on economic development activities and progress to city officials and stakeholders.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Economic Development, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in economic development, business administration, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of economic development principles, practices, and financing tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and economic development-related software.

Report to :

Lead monthly or quarterly meetings with the Board of Directors. Will work closely with the City Manager of Colorado City and will give updates to the City Council of Colorado City.

Schedule :

Flexible work schedule, may work remotely Monday-Friday, 20 hours a week. Will have to report in person to meetings with prospective businesses.
