Are you ready to shape the future of military technology and innovation? Torch Technologies is looking for dynamic individuals with expertise in C++ software development to be a part of our cutting-edge projects.

As a Radar Software Engineer at Torch Technologies, you'll be at the forefront of innovation, working in state-of-the-art laboratories at Redstone Arsenal.

This position will have you supporting a government led team in the development of existing Government radar tracker and correlator software suite.

Focus will be on reformatting of existing code to support Linux compatibility, modernization of software libraries used, and an overhaul of the Graphical User Interface (GUI).

This role will be located at a customer's site with goal of completely re-designing and streamlining a currently fielded solution, with a focus on long-term maintainability and support .

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assess and understand legacy C++ code and work on a team dedicated to updating and modernizing software components
  • Design new implementation for existing software that will ensure cross platform compatibility, specifically on Linux-based systems
  • Integrate backend components into a more modern GUI approach
  • Re-develop software components that rely on the Microsoft Foundations Class (MFC) using more modern libraries

What We’re Looking For :

  • Background in software development and verification
  • Knowledge of basic Radar principles, specifically from a software perspective
  • Experience with C++ development and processes
  • The ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross functional team
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • The candidate must be a US Citizen, and have the character and background to obtain a Secret security clearance

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering / Computer Science from an accredited university
  • Over 2-5 years of applicable experience in software analysis, design, or integration
  • Some experience with Radar Software development is preferred (Tracking, Correlation, Sensor Fusion, etc)
  • Experience in Army or Department of Defense-related fields is a plus
  • Requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • 10 -20% travel may be required for this position

Job Type : Regular Full-time

Security Clearance : Secret

Schedule : M-F; 8-5

Work Location : customer site

Travel : Yes, 10%-20%
