Role and Responsibilities :

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a commissary, which is a grocery store that serves military personnel, retirees, and their families.

Their responsibilities typically include managing and supervising tasks associated with receiving, handling, stocking, and controlling inventory of products and materials.

  • Oversees commissary team which is composed of individuals with disabilities.
  • Supervises the day-to-day operations of their team, escalating issues to the appropriate level of support and / or leadership when necessary.
  • Recruiting, training, scheduling, and supervising staff members to ensure excellent customer service and operational efficiency.
  • Complies with all established company policies and procedures while upholding the security and confidentiality of documents and data.
  • Responsible for maintaining, tracking, computing, and adjustments to attendance records and payroll.
  • Managing inventory levels, ordering products, and ensuring stock availability for customers while minimizing waste.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, including food safety standards, health codes, and military guidelines.
  • Overseeing cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of the store premises and equipment.
  • Establishes and communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to commissary team.
  • Maintains store cleanliness standards and proper store signage.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Education Requirements :

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associate degree in related field (Preferred)
  • Minimum of (3) three years' supervisory experience in a distribution setting
  • Experience working with persons with disabilities or disabling conditions
  • Valid driver's license

Required Skills :

  • Knowledge of how to operate in a managerial role.
  • Knowledge of how to effectively schedule workers.
  • Familiarity with Outlook, SharePoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to organize and establish work processes

Preferred Qualifications and Education :

  • Strong commitment to a high level of service and quality standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, develop and lead teams.
  • Ability to plan and organize.
  • Proficient technological and computer software skills.
