Senior Electrical Engineer Printed Circuit Board DesignLocation : Melbourne, FLRate : $48 to $54 an hour (partial Benefits) Have you worked in the Defense Industry as an Electrical Engineer who produces printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) / circuit card assembly (CCA) and the associated system Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) enclosures combat vehicle systems?
We need a boots on the ground Engineer to work with assigned suppliers to ensure an ongoing high-level of production quality is met.
This team is located in Huntsville, Alabama, USA. This Electrical Engineer must have experience in the design and manufacture of PCBAs / CCAs and will help resolve supplier quality and manufacturing process concerns in direct support of production.
Impact : *Be Onsite to investigate, evaluate, and support the resolution of supplier quality problems by conducting defect investigations, analyzing defect trends, and leading continuous improvement projects.
Executive presence to communicate effectively and partner with suppliers to understand requirements and expectations; make progress reports and present findings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability : * IPC-A-600 and IPC J-STD-001, as well as subordinate IPC standards / guidelines.
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical EngineeringSkills Required* Quality Engineer - ability to troubleshoot
- Understanding of technical drawing requirements
- Computer skills (MS Office etc.)* Effective, clear communicator with strong written, verbal, and presentation The following skills are preferred but are not required for the position :
- Design of PCBA / CCA for aerospace or defense industries
- Working knowledge of MIL-PRF-31032, MIL-PRF-55110, IPC-A-610, and IPC-A-620
- Fabrication processes, equipment, test, and instrumentation common in the Aerospace and Defense Industries
- Production line validation, test, equipment, instrumentation, and qualification of fabricated products
- Working knowledge of AS9100 Quality System, AS9102C First Article Requirements, AS9145 APQP / PPAP Requirements, and Source Inspection.
- Low voltage (28Vdc) and / or high voltage (610Vdc) electrical power distribution and management
- Servo amplifier design, manufacturing, and test experience
- Working knowledge of design for environmental qualification including EMI / EMC design and qualification principles
- IPC-6012, IPC-6013, IPC-6018, subordinate IPC standards / guidelines, MIL-PRF-31032, MIL-PR, MIL-STD-883, MIL-PRF-38534, and ASME Y14.
- 5. Experience Required* Over 5 years of work experience in PCB Board;* Working knowledge and familiarity with IPC-A-600, IPC J-STD-001;
- Exposure to Failure Analysis, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective / Preventative Actions Desired Experience : * A working knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620 Expected Travel requirement : Regular work location for the candidate is at the supplier facility in Huntsville, Al.
Travel to other locations such as BAE Systems facilities or other supplier facilities may be required infrequently : Approximately 10% or less.
Expectations for the Team : * lead problem solving and root-cause analysis activities with assigned supplier to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances.
