Evoke is seeking a Telecommunications Specialist to join our team!

Responsibilities :

  • Design, implement, and maintain telecommunications infrastructure, including VoIP systems, PBX systems, and SIP trunks.
  • Configure and troubleshoot VoIP equipment, such as IP phones, gateways, and session border controllers (SBCs).
  • Monitor and analyze network performance, identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement network solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Conduct regular assessments of telecommunications systems, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and performance.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends in telecommunications and VoIP, providing recommendations for integration and adoption.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including network diagrams, configuration guides, and operational procedures.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians as needed.

Professional Experience and Skills :

  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting VoIP protocols and technologies, such as SIP, RTP, and codecs.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).
  • Hands-on experience with VoIP platforms and equipment, such as Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), and Polycom phones.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as Wireshark, Nagios, and SolarWinds.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Education and Years of Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in telecommunications engineering, with a focus on VoIP systems.
  • Industry certifications, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent, are a plus.
