What You'll Do
As a Business Development Representative at Bellwether, you'll connect prospects' IT problems and challenges with our solution.
As you consult with business leaders to help them understand how Bellwether Managed IT Services allows their company to leverage technology, they'll become eager to explore what that might look like for them.
Your ultimate goal will be to bring in new business that will create recurring monthly revenue.
What a Typical Day Looks Like
While this is a results-oriented position, you'll have an enormous amount of freedom to determine not only your schedule but your approach to business development.
While you'll get to know the account management team at Bellwether, the bulk of your time will be spent engaging with prospects and referral sources either out in the community or by phone and email.
The way that you'll achieve your sales goals will be by building relationships, setting meetings, and guiding prospects through the sales process.
You'll have marketing support and technology tools to assist you in developing a list of ideal prospects along with an outreach strategy to convert leads into appointments.
We'd love it if you're active in the New Orleans community and eager to build your network in person as well as on LinkedIn.
What Ramp Up Looks Like
The first thing you'll do is learn how Bellwether operates and how a proactive approach to IT management builds a foundation for innovative use of technology.
This will go a little faster if you have a background in IT.
You'll spend a lot of time with our Vice President and President to get familiar with our sales process and learn about the tactics that we've found to be most successful in reaching executives with our message about how Bellwether can help them meet their business goals as well as their IT challenges.
You'll also learn how to use our CRM and the other tools that we have in place to help you keep track of your prospect list and scale it with automation.
What Success Looks Like
At the end of the day, it's closed business that you're after. The sales process can extend over several months or even years, so developing relationships and following a plan to communicate with prospects and referral sources will be an indicator of future success.
What a Good Fit Looks like
We'd like you to have some experience in B2B sales or business development. Experience in the IT industry is a plus but not required.
While we won't send you out on your own until you're ready, you should be the kind of person who thrives on autonomy and doesn't need a lot of outside motivation to go for the goal.
You're a people person and a great communicator. While you enjoy change, you understand how process leads to repeatable results, and you're willing to put in the effort to achieve success.
What About Advancement?
Bellwether is a growing company, so we expect management opportunities to emerge in the future. In the meantime, you'll be supported in your professional development with appropriate training and resources that help you hone your skills.
