POSITION PURPOSE

Working with business and technology teams, responsible for the development, execution, and management of a robust data analytics and reporting strategy and program for the Credit Union, including leveraging the use of modern data warehousing solutions.

Responsibilities include overseeing the Business Intelligence & Reporting (BI&R) team and partnering with technology and engineering teams to ensure that the Credit Union’s business intelligence capabilities are robust, efficient, scalable, and flexible.

This position will also ensure that data governance standards and strong internal controls are applied for all business intelligence, reporting, and analytics deliverables.

This role works closely with the business to build a data-driven culture, designed to provide accurate, timely, and relevant information to senior leadership and the organization.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees;

planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES Strategy & Leadership

  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and align business intelligence, analytics, and data governance strategies with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
  • Lead and coordinate the planning and execution of activities or projects impacting reporting and analytics capabilities and solutioning.
  • Understand and communicate SAFE’s data ecosystem and strategies to the organization.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and thought leader in the organization for business intelligence, analytics, and data governance, providing guidance and support to other departments as needed.

Serve as the BI&R lead in the implementation and rollout of the Credit Union’s data warehouse solution.

Development & Performance

  • Provide input to the data engineering and management teams on how data is delivered, including strategies for implementing analytic capability enablement, reporting tools, self-service capabilities, etc.
  • Drive a culture of innovation within the business intelligence and reporting team, encouraging team members to experiment with new tools, technologies, and methodologies, and providing the necessary support and resources to facilitate ongoing learning and development.
  • Develop a highly functional team through coaching, goal setting, and a commitment to employee growth and development.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of training programs to enhance the data literacy of employees across the organization, fostering a data-driven culture.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the BI&R team, encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing to deliver actionable intelligence;

includes learning the various lines of business and interpreting their business intelligence needs.

  • Continuously evaluate and stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, the Credit Union’s lines of business, and best practices in business intelligence, analytics, and data governance to ensure that the organization remains competitive and innovative.
  • Lead the prioritization and management of business intelligence assignments and projects, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively, and work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success and effectiveness of business intelligence initiatives and identify areas for improvement.

Collaboration & Governance

  • Partner with Data Engineering and Management to identify and implement DW software solutions and tools that best fulfill SAFE’s business intelligence needs.
  • Work closely with product managers, lines of business, digital banking, marketing, and information technology (IT) groups, to determine / understand data needs and to develop a channel analytics environment that ensures results are easily accessible and interpreted to satisfy business requirements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, ensuring that their needs and requirements are understood and addressed in business intelligence initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Risk Management, IT, Data Governance, and DEM teams to develop and implement risk management strategies related to data security, privacy, and compliance, ensuring that business intelligence activities adhere to relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with SAFE’s data governance program’s policies and practices.
  • Support the implementation of controls around all financial, operational, and compliance reporting.
  • Evaluate and manage vendor relationships to ensure that the organization is delivering and leveraging the best available tools and services in the business intelligence and analytics space.

Other Responsibilities

  • Oversee the ServicePro reporting and analytics request process, including providing documented procedures to the organization.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS Education / Certification :

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting, Finance, IT, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or Mathematics and a minimum of ten years of related experience in financial analysis, reporting, analytics or business intelligence positions, with at least three or more years of managerial experience.

At least five years’ experience working in a multi-disciplined role that requires knowledge and experience of financial reporting concepts (e.

g., GAAP, DCF, Allowance), and data structures and methods (e.g., T-SQL, PL / SQL, Python, DAX / MDX, ETL process, etc.).

Five years of experience delivering financial or operational reporting using multiple platforms (e.g., Power BI, SSRS, Excel, Tableau, etc.).

  • Knowledge of star schema and schema a plus Microsoft Power BI, SSIS, Analysis Services / tabular data modeling a plus.
  • Intermediate data visualization software skills using BI tools a plus.
  • Experience in developing policies, procedures, and processes that ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Change management and adaptability.
  • Appropriately handles sensitive and confidential information.
  • Risk management and compliance knowledge.
  • Microsoft Azure, NoSQL, and Snowflake experience a plus.
  • Financial institution or financial services experience a plus.
