OverviewKimley-Horn, one of FORTUNE Magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For," is looking for a dynamic and energetic Human Resources Partner (HRP) for our Carolinas region.

This is an office-based role in our Charleston, SC office. The HRP is responsible for providing core HR support to multiple offices in South Carolina, including Charleston, Greenville and Columbia.

In collaboration with others, the HRP proposes solutions and engages partners in the areas of employee relations, performance management, recognition, engagement and teambuilding, conflict resolution, career development, and retention efforts.

  • ResponsibilitiesWork closely with supervisors and employees to drive strong work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity, engagement and retentionProvide HR guidance on various people matters;
  • manage and resolve complex employee relations issuesCollaborate on day-to-day performance management (e.g., coaching, career development, disciplinary actions) and support the performance review processPartner with leadership to oversee cultural integration initiatives, creating programs that promote an inclusive work environment conducive to integrating organizational culturesLead the integration planning for mid-level and senior new hires within assigned office(s)Analyze data and provide recommendations to improve processes, employee engagement, and policy alignment across the regionFacilitate various development programsManage special projects that have impact across the region and organizationSupport leaves of absence process, including FMLA and workers’ compensationStrong interpersonal skills, including verbal communication, presentation, and relationship buildingDemonstrated success in building internal trust and strong relationships with employees and business partners to improve collaboration, build morale, and increase productivity and retentionEffective communication skills, with a personable and approachable demeanor;
  • ability to relate to, influence, and coach employees at all levels within the organizationFlexible, including the ability to think strategically, execute tactically, and collaborate across many teams, levels, and situationsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent organization and follow-through skills;
  • ability to multi-task with limited daily supervisionAbility and desire to work collaboratively with team members within the region, as well as across the organizationAbility to maintain confidential informationKnowledge of, and ability to apply, applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, and policiesQualificationsBachelor’s (or master’s) degree in Human Resources, or related fieldAt least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in an HR generalist capacity, including experience leading employee relations, conflict resolution and investigationsMust currently be working in a role solely focused on HR and performing generalist duties, including emphasis on employee relations, not staffing / talent acquisitionPrevious experience supporting employees across multiple offices and geographies strongly preferred;
  • comfortable serving as the sole local HR contactValid driver’s license : ability to travel, sometimes overnight, to support the needs of the regionProficiency in Outlook, MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint;

ability to learn HRIS systemPHR / SPHR or SHRM-CP / SCP preferredPrevious experience with UltiPro UKG preferredPrevious experience supporting professional services / consulting firm preferredWhy Kimley-Horn?
