The Director of Financial Reporting will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all financial reporting activities.
Reporting directly to the Controller, this role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across the organization.
Additionally, the Director of Financial Reporting will be responsible for overseeing technical accounting matters, ensuring compliance with evolving standards, and providing expertise on complex accounting issues.
What you'll be doing :
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and healthcare industry standards.
- Collaborate with the Controller to manage the consolidation of financial results from various business units within Spring Health.
- Lead the research, interpretation, and implementation of new accounting standards and regulations, providing technical accounting guidance to the finance team and other stakeholders.
- Provide technical accounting support for complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, new products, revenue recognition, and equity compensation.
- Collaborate with sales teams to review new contract terms and ensure appropriate technical accounting treatment
- Develop and implement financial reporting and technical accounting policies, procedures, and best practices to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the financial reporting process.
What success looks like in this role :
- Monitor and communicate changes in accounting standards and regulations, particularly those impacting the healthcare sector.
- Provide guidance and support to the finance team, ensuring accurate and consistent financial reporting and technical accounting across the organization.
- Coordinate and prepare audit schedules, working closely with external auditors to ensure smooth and efficient audits.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders.
What we expect from you :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification required
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience, with at least 3-5 years in financial reporting and technical accounting at a public company
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements specific to healthcare
- Extensive experience with technical accounting, including researching and applying accounting standards for complex transactions
- Working knowledge of Google Office Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership
The target base salary range for this position is $153,750- $205,000, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options and benefits.
Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually using Radford Global Compensation Database at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
