JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Performance Improvement Coordinator is responsible for promoting and improving patient safety culture and performance throughout the healthcare system.
With a focus on sepsis management, the Coordinator is responsible for analyzing process improvement data and collaborating with practitioners and staff to promote efficient, cost-effective, clinically sound, and safe care delivery across the system.
This role includes preparing reports and participating in projects related to the analysis and reporting of operational and strategic performance data.
- Lead, direct and negotiate the implementation of strategic plans to improve sepsis management in the system.
- Develop, implement, and assess evidence-based practices for Sepsis Management across all disciplines according to the current guidelines.
- Provide ongoing education and guidelines implementation support to clinical and medical staff to ensure compliance and informed sepsis management.
- Continuously monitor internal and national compliance trends and track clinician compliance with sepsis management standards.
- Facilitate EMR and informatics changes to support sepsis management.
- Organize and support the Sepsis Committee, assist in identifying quality and safety management issues, and work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful regulatory compliance and evidence-based practices.
- Utilize improvement methodologies including lean six sigma and PDSA cycles to ensure rapid change and compliance with CMS Sepsis measures and updates.
- Maintain clinical knowledge and skills for sepsis care.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college / university, MSN preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years' clinical setting experience, emergency / trauma preferred.
- Quality data analysis, performance improvement, and lean process experience.
- CPHQ certification or IHI healthcare quality training within 2 years of hire.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida and BLS certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Ability to use judgment and discretion while dealing with confidential information, high-intermediate computer skills.
