We are on the hunt for an experienced Collections Specialist. This role is situated within the construction industry and will be based at our location in Signal Hill, California.
The position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. As a Collections Specialist, you will be tasked with managing overdue customer accounts and handling a high volume of invoices.
Responsibilities :
- Communicating with customers on past due invoices and conducting necessary follow-ups.
- Utilizing Premier Accounting software, specific to the construction industry, to process and manage customer accounts.
- Conducting research on customer information to aid collections processes.
- Maintaining and updating customer records, including payment schedules.
- Utilizing strong communication skills to interact with customers and provide excellent customer service.
- Handling B2B collections and overseeing the collection operations.
- Processing cash and credit card payments from customers.
- Conducting data entry tasks and managing customer credit records.
- Assisting in other accounting tasks and responsibilities as they arise.
- Demonstrating adaptability by taking on varied tasks within the role.
- Minimum of one year experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in B2B collections
- Strong knowledge of collections and collection processes
- Familiarity with collection operations
- Experience in handling cash payments
- Proven ability in collecting payments
- Understanding of credit card payment processes
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office and collection specific software
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of relevant legal requirements and regulations.
