Business Management Associates (BMA) is seeking a Human Resources Assistant (HR Processing Unit) who understands the Guide to Personnel Processing Actions (GPPA) and payroll corrections such as History Correction Update processing (HCUP).

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES :

  • Use the Personnel Processing Guide and agency Personnel Manual to timely and accurately code and process various appointment and staffing actions in the automated personnel and payroll system to document employee's official personnel actions.
  • Perform the full range of processing payroll / personnel actions in EmpowHR and the National Finance Center (NFC) databases, and complete History Correction Update processing (HCUP) tasks.
  • Research complex pay problems such as back pay and determine corrective action; calculate pay errors and prepare documentation for servicing agency or payroll office.
  • Provide advice on indebtedness notices issued by an agency or servicing payroll office, respond to employee questions on these notices and on billing and salary offset procedures.
  • Enter data into automated tracking systems.
  • Perform routine personnel management functions, respond to requests for information and perform limited research and analysis of applicable laws, regulations, policy.
  • Prepare summaries and recommendations for action.
  • Perform designated segments of complex personnel assignments. Routinely provide technical services to agency personnel on a broad range of Human Resources topics that involve complex issues regarding the receipt, processing, and verification of personnel actions.
  • Preform other related technical and clerical support tasks.
  • Additional job duties may apply.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS :

  • Knowledge of USA Staffing amongst Applicant tracking systems.
  • Experience verifying personnel documents (SF50s, SF52s, DD214s etc.)
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government background investigation and must meet eligibility and suitability requirements.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :

  • Associates Degree, Bachelor's Degree or BS degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • Must have at least four (4) years of experience with an associate degree or at least two (2) years of experience with a BA or BS degree in related field.
