Mesilla Valley Hospital (MVH) was established in 7 and has been proudly serving adolescents, adults, and seniors in need of treatment for a variety of psychiatric and substance abuse issues.
MVH offers -beds and access to quality behavioral healthcare and substance abuse treatment to residents of New Mexico, West Texas, and Arizona.
MVH is the leader in providing quality mental health and addiction treatment services across inpatient, outpatient and residential treatment.
Our commitment to care includes developing integrated delivery systems through partnerships with medical surgical hospitals, community mental health centers, educational institutions, managed care organizations, local health professionals and agencies.
We are also a teaching facility that accepts nursing students interested in a behavioral health affiliation.
About The Opportunity :
The Chief Nursing Officer will be a key member of the hospital Leadership Team who will integrate and coordinate a patient centric nursing strategy with a keen focus on patient care;
ensuring that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services and in accordance with government regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements.
The CNO will participate in the hospital’s strategic planning and contributes to the achievement of institutional goals and objectives.
The Chief Nursing Officer will focus on 5 key areas : People, Service, Quality, Growth, and Finance.

Qualifications
Job Requirements :
- Licensure : Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of NM.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a CCNE accredited nursing program; Master of Science in Nursing is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of behavioral health nursing clinical practices and management. Experience with a free-standing inpatient setting is strongly preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Three or more years of progressive nursing management experience in behavioral health setting preferred
- Ability to plan, direct, and monitor others’ activities with demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment
