Job Details : Purpose

Purpose

Systems Engineering, Test, and Evaluation of Diver Systems in the Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL).

Responsibilities

Conduct and document analyses of alternatives in support of military applications and acquisitions

Plan, execute, and report the testing and evaluation of systems

Support the development, documentation, management, and tracking of requirements and specifications for military diving systems

Support the development of project concepts and project-related technical documentation

Support training activities for diver systems

Support engineering teams in the development and coordination of complex systems

Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or similar technical degree

Three years of experience in a technical work environment or post-bachelor's degree military experience.

Strong understanding of systems engineering across life cycle to include requirements management, systems architecture, verification and validation.

Significant military or technical diving knowledge and understanding of Navy diving protocols and applications.

Demonstrated strong leadership and organizational skills.

Demonstrated strong writing and presentation skills.

Proficient in use of computer systems.

Must be mechanically inclined, skilled in the use of basic tools, and have basic electrical skills.

Applicant must have a dynamic skill set, willing to work with new technologies, be highly organized, capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks, and managing their time.

This position will require attention to detail, effective problem solving, sound judgment, and excellent communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member without daily supervision, and effectively communicate with all groups of clients.

Applicant must be able to work under pressure and accept supervision with regular and punctual attendance.

US Citizen. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at level appropriate to project requirements of the position

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in in engineering, computer science, or similar technical degree or MBA.

Experience in Naval Special Warfare or similar specialized Navy diving experience.

Experience and / or in-depth knowledge with as many of the following types of diving related topics :

Diver Propulsion Devices / Vehicles, SEAL Delivery Vehicle experience, submarine lock-out procedures, closed-circuit diving and / or Rebreathers, night diving / low-visibility diving, decompression or saturation diving, mixed gas or NITROX diving, surface-supplied diving, CPR, O2 provider, diver emergency management, use of underwater tools and equipment (including lift bags and underwater rigging), underwater photo documentation, or underwater communications.

Experience maintaining, servicing, or supporting diving or expeditionary systems and equipment.

Experience in systems engineering.

Experience acting as a technical lead or in project management.

Understanding of software engineering processes and standards.

Experience in field testing or acting as a test director.

Experience with top-down design of systems.

Experience in circuit board design, production, debugging and testing.

Understanding of hardware engineering processes and standards.

Demonstrated knowledge in as many as possible of the following : C, C++, C#, Java, XML, Qt, .NET, version control systems, defect tracking systems, unit testing, real-time and concurrent systems, and web services.

Demonstrated knowledge in one or more of the following areas : acoustics, signal processing, detection theory, pattern recognition and classification or image processing.

Experience developing software in Linux or in an embedded environment.

Recent or immediate eligibility for access to classified information.

Experience training Navy divers.

Cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Salary Range

$104,000-$174,000+ / negotiable depending on qualifications.
