Position Summary :
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the LSU Health Baton Rouge is seeking an Ob / Gyn for an academic faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor (non-tenure, clinical track).
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Obstetrician / Gynecologist (OB / GYN) to join our growing healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive care in women’s reproductive health, including routine check-ups, prenatal and postnatal care, and managing gynecological conditions.

Job Title : Obstetrician / Gynecologist (OB / GYN)
Location : Baton Rouge, LA
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal care to patients.
- Perform routine gynecological exams, including Pap smears, pelvic exams, and breast exams.
- Supervision and teaching of academic ob-gyn residents, and medical students, and conducting of clinical research
- Displaying a dedication to medical education including direct teaching of medical students and residents.
- Diagnose and treat disorders related to the female reproductive system.
- Perform gynecological surgeries, including C-sections, hysterectomies, and laparoscopies.
- Manage high-risk pregnancies and complications.
- Counsel patients on birth control options, fertility issues, and menopause management.
- Educate patients on preventive care and family planning.
- Clinical responsibilities will include office practice, office-based procedures, and inpatient and outpatient surgery.
- Maintain accurate patient records and coordinate with other team members.
- Participation in research and Departmental activities are expected.
- Stay updated with the latest medical research, techniques, and guidelines in obstetrics and gynecology.
Qualifications :
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Licensed to practice Medicine in Louisiana before hire date.
- Completion of an accredited OB / GYN residency program.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an academic and team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to providing patient-centered care.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
- Proficiency in managing high-risk pregnancies.
