Sr Wireless Network Engineer (WWAN / WLAN)

Do you love wireless technologies? We are seeking a Sr Wireless Network Engineer (WWAN & WLAN) to join our team and to be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of our wireless network infrastructure to enhance customer experiences.

This role will work closely with our research and development team to build the next generation of features for a sizeable campus environment used by many people.

We are building new experiences with private 5G and modern WiFi 6 & 7 capabilities with next-generation networking solutions.

The successful candidate will have a hands-on wireless network engineering background and will be familiar with all requirements and regulations around this technology.

You will understand how to test network saturation and ensure we're getting the best throughput for enhanced experiences.

This project will require the individual to work onsite 5 days / week in Orlando Florida. If you seek to be the best and provide added-value to a team that will generate amazing experiences for the public then we truly want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize wireless network infrastructure across our large park campus environment.
• Build proof of concepts (POCs) and write white papers based on results from these projects.
• Design, implement and test Private 5G NR (New Radio) and WLAN (Wifi 6 & 7) solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in WWAN 5G technology and WLAN wireless networking
• Coordinate with other engineers across all the OSI layers, project managers, and corporate stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all requirements and regulations around wireless technology.
• Work with the research and development team to build the next and latest generation of features.
• Facilitate best-in-class experiences through innovative wireless networking technologies.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for wireless network issues.
• Conduct RF planning, capacity planning, and interference management for optimal network performance.
• Implement network security measures to protect sensitive data.
• Conduct network performance tests and analyze network KPIs to ensure network reliability and availability.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience with WWAN and WLAN Network Engineering with a focus on wireless solutioning.
• Experience writing white papers and building Proof of Concepts (POCs) to test and document new technologies.
• Familiarity with 5G technology and wireless networking infrastructure.
• Experience with WWAN and WLAN technologies such as 5G NR, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6 / 6E / 7, Bluetooth, and Zigbee.
• Understanding of governance frameworks that guide wireless networking infrastructure, such as ISO / IEC 27001.
• Familiarity with network protocols such as TCP / IP, UDP, HTTP / HTTPS, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and VPN.
• Knowledge of network security principles and practices, including firewalls, IDS / IPS, VPN, and encryption.
• Knowledge of OSI model and networking protocols.
• Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.
• Any relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP), or Juniper Networks Certified Enterprise Routing and Switching Expert (JNCIE-ENT) are very nice to have.
• Proficiency in network simulation tools such as NS3, OPNET, or OMNeT++.
• Experience with SharePoint, Confluence, and Visio.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Additional Details

The salary range for this position is $100k - $120k annually, depending on experience.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
