This job works to support the Tobacco Cessation Clinics across the Ochsner system with minimal supervision, providing all duties related to scheduling appointments, registering patients with correct patient accounts for the Tobacco trust and communicating with patients referred to the Cessation Clinics

Education
Required - High School diploma or equivalent
Work Experience
Required - 3 years Relevant experience (customer service, patient registration, appointment scheduling).
Preferred - Knowledge of Epic system (registration and scheduling).
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of required job information.
- Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, keyboard, and various software packages specific to role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, etc.).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively and courteously communicate with a diverse group of internal and external calls.
- Good judgment skills to handle difficult situations.
- Good organization and time mangement skills.
- Self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision.
Job Duties
- Manages patient referrals to Ochsner Tobacco Cessation Clinics.
- Coordinates appointments to Ochsner Tobacco cessation clinics.
- Ensures accurate registration and eligibility of patients with appropriate guarantor accounts.
- Acts as customer service liaison between Cessation clinics and patients.
- Supports the Tobacco Cessation program’s goals and objectives.
