The Data Scientist III is a data science expert who leads data science strategy and implementation efforts. They remain engaged with the broader data science community through keeping up to date with the latest breakthroughs in research and industry, incorporating new data science tradecraft into their areas of responsibility as they see fit.
The Data Scientist III serves as the data science authority within their assigned projects and programs. Their hands-on expertise also enables them to develop new models and / or optimize existing models across datasets that include, but aren't limited to, text, speech, images, and video.
The Data Scientist III supervises and mentors subordinate project and Team ManTech staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- 9+ years of experience
- Bachelors Degree in related discipline (candidate holding a relevant Master’s degree may be granted 2 years’ experience credit for that extra education.
A candidate holding a relevant PhD degree may be granted 4 years’ experience credit)
- High School Diploma + 13 years of experience will also be considered
- Active Top Secret clearance with Full-Scope Poly
- DoD 8570.01-m IAT Level II Certification

5+ years of position-specific relevant experience
Physical Requirements :
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
- Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Compensation and Benefits :
The projected compensation range for this position is $108,200-$180,300. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary / hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
