Main Job Responsibilities
- Provides excellent, professional customer service
- Providing support to the instructor, including classroom set-up, food prep, serving food, washing dishes, and clean-up.
- Working effectively in cooperation with the instructor and fellow assistant.
- Greeting and checking in students as they arrive for class.
- Cleans during and after class; ensures classroom and equipment are clean and ready for the next class
- Following all food safety guidelines as indicated by the USDA.
- Cleans refrigerator, ovens, and stovetop as needed
- Communicates classroom issues to PCC Cooking Classes Staff.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service
- Knowledge of natural foods products is strongly desired.
- Culinary experience is a bonus.
- Organizational skills
- Flexible schedule; must be available to work evenings and weekends
- Comfortable working with children and able to pass a background check
- Self-motivated- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail, sense of urgency with work
- Proven ability to practice safe cleaning methods and product handling
- Able to meet the physical demands of the position including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion, and lifting 10 to 35 lbs. on a regular basis
