The Baylor Heart Hospital Denton

Cardiac Rehab Department Outpatient Unit RN Cardiac Rehab

Shift : Days PRN 8hr shifts 1-2 shifts per week Mon Fri No weekends or call

Required Experience : RN Candidates must have experience in high acuity Cardiovascular Patients, including EP, Cath Lab, CVPCU, ICU etc.

Preferred Experience : CVICU, previous cardiac rehab, and RN certification (CVN or CCRP)

  • We are a fast-paced outpatient environment that is very team based.
  • RN will assess, take vitals, check medication history, and collaborate with physicians
  • Must be able to multi-task and deliver quality care with high volume of patients.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse on Unit is a key player in patient care management, following our nursing practice model. They work with other health care staff to deliver patient care effectively.

Our Registered Nurses use the nursing process efficiently. They diagnose patient responses to health issues and create care plans accordingly.

It includes evaluating healthcare needs and responses.

What You'll Do

  • Prioritize needs. Create, implement, and assess care plan to achieve outcomes. Adapt plan as necessary.
  • Observe indicators closely, support evidence-based changes with research and hands-on learning.
  • Create a caring, safe environment for patients, families, and staff.
  • Build relationships with boundaries in mind. Focus on managing emotional and physical pain to promote healing and reduce suffering.
  • Facilitate learning for all members of the healthcare team, including patients, families, and nursing staff, ensuring everyone is well-informed.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and the community to develop and execute an integrated plan of care.
  • Use problem-solving strategies and utilize available resources to support patients, family and staff as part of a systems thinking approach.

What Will Make You Successful In The Role

  • Familiarity with nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
  • Awareness of legal requirements and standards of certification and accreditation bodies, including the specifics of the hospital and respective department / unit.
  • Good command of medical terminology, with a focus on healthcare promotion, risk reduction, and disease prevention.
  • Effective communication skills, along with social aptitude for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
  • Possessing critical thinking and problem-solving skills is crucial.
  • Capability to identify and report changes in patient conditions, develop, and modify patient care plans as required.
  • Basic computer skills necessary for day-to-day assignments.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited course or have at least 2 years of experience surpassing the minimal qualification required.
  • Field of Study : The applicable major should be nursing.
  • A minimum of 2 years in a relevant role is expected.
  • Certification : Hold a BLS certificate now or obtain within 30 days of starting in this role.
