POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Engineer and Editor will be responsible for configuring, installing, and supporting production audio, video, and lighting solutions for worship experiences and events to help accomplish the mission and vision of Mt.
Zion Baptist Church. The Production Engineer will work together as a member of the Production Department’s team to design, implement, and support Mt.
Zion Baptist Church’s production technology systems. These systems include broadcast video, multi-campus video transport, production audio, production lighting, and associated infrastructure, and meeting, and office spaces.
The Production Engineer will also be responsible for service editing, social media service editing and live streaming. This specific position will work directly under the Senior Production Engineer and report to the Production Department’s Executive Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Production Engineer will be an effective collaborator who assists with establishing the audio, visual and lighting systems and ensures ongoing continuity while inspiring a team of internal and contract production employees.
Key responsibilities include :
Sets design and engineering standards of assigned production systems across all locations
- Responsible for assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of production (audio, video, and lighting) systems across all campus venues.
- Uses judgement and decision-making skills to solve complex production technology issues for all locations.
- Partners with team members to manage and maintain standards for network and end-point equipment.
- Works with the Production team to provide technical training for staff on new systems and technologies.
- Evaluates emerging production technologies and trends, adjusting engineering standards, as necessary.
- Provides multi-campus leadership and technical support of operations
- Supports campus teams during execution of services and events
- Acts as a Tier II escalation point for troubleshooting and resolution of campus technical issues.
- Tracks inventory, maintenance records, and life cycle of equipment across campuses
- Pioneers' new systems and generate fresh ideas through collaboration with ministry, creative, and production teams.
- Ensures the reliability of production equipment by working with vendors, contractors, and campus staff to resolve ticketed issues and perform proactive systems maintenance.
- Assist with the coordination installation and commissioning of production systems during construction related projects.
- Assists with the development of realistic and goal driven budgets and consistently operates within those limits.
- Assist to establish organizational driven goals for the department and contribute toward the annual fulfillment with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Collaborates with Creative, Campus and Production teams to effectively produce weekend and other services.
- Responsible for social media sermon and worship recap editing.
- Responsible for live streaming for Sunay services and special services / events.
- Responsible for Deeper Dive File and Special Service / events uploading to YouTube.
- Generate Introduction videos for conferences and special services.
- Special editing projects as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related discipline, preferred.
- At least 5 years’ experience gained through increasing positions within discipline, preferred.
- Advanced knowledge and ability to operate and troubleshoot technical equipment within Lighting systems. Ability to learn basic operation and troubleshooting of all production systems within one year.
- Ability to lead projects, meet deadlines, and have strong decision-making skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and build strong working relationships
- Ability to lead system installations from concept through post installation operations
- Self-starter with strong personal organization and time management skills
- Availability to work weekends and non-traditional hours
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (typically 5+ years) preferred
