Department Information

The Woodruff School graduates high caliber mechanical engineers for a demanding profession. Mechanical engineers are the foundation of today s technological world.

To do so, we provide enhanced facilities and laboratories to create the best learning environment and we attract outstanding faculty and students.

In this period of rapid technological change, the Woodruff School produces mechanical engineers who are vital to our future.

With approximately 3,000 students, 100 faculty members, and 80 staff members, the Woodruff School is one of the largest mechanical engineering programs in the country.

We are consistently ranked as one of the top 10 mechanical engineering programs in the U.S. at both the graduate and undergraduate levels and continuously innovate to keep our school at the forefront of engineering education.

Job Summary

  • The Program Manager works with many levels of leadership and staff to manage program efforts based on industry best practices;
  • works as the single point of contact for facilitation and communication of program goals, deliverables, and schedules, and must be an excellent communicator;

various levels of documentation will be produced at each stage of the program and the program manager is often the person who creates these with input from others.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -

Establish goals, objectives, and evaluation criteria for programs; evaluate program effectiveness on an ongoing basis

Job Duty 2 -

Manage day-to-day operational aspects of programs, including planning scheduling, and monitoring activities; Assist with developing and formalizing program scope;

assign resources and set deadlines

Job Duty 3 -

Recommend, update, and support programmatic policies and procedures

Job Duty 4 -

Develop and maintain effective relationships with program sponsors, stakeholders, teams, and others to assess needs and existing program methodology

Job Duty 5 -

Research and identify funding and resources to support programs; Track timelines and budgets, report status, and resolve or escalates issues as necessary

Job Duty 6 -

May assist with developing and distributing publications, resources, and program or marketing materials

Job Duty 7 -

Participate in strategic and operational planning for programs

Job Duty 8 -

Perform other job-related duties assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

High School Diploma / GED or Vocational School Diploma

Required Experience

Up to two years of job-related experience

Preferred Qualifications

o Project Management Professional - (PMP)

o Certified Associate in Project Management - (CAPM)

  • Alumni Relations Management
  • Develop and maintain relationships with alumni to foster a strong sense of community and engagement for ME / NRE majors
  • Coordinate and manage alumni events, including networking events, homecoming activities, and guest lectures for the school.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for alumni inquiries and communications.
  • Event Planning and Execution
  • Plan, organize, and execute alumni events (small and large), ensuring they align with the school s goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful event logistics and participation.
  • Launch and manage alumni councils or advisory boards to promote a culture of giving and engagement among recent graduates1
  • Communication and Outreach
  • Create and distribute newsletters, emails, and social media content to keep alumni informed and engaged.
  • Develop marketing materials and campaigns to promote alumni events and initiatives.
  • Fundraising and Development
  • Identify and cultivate potential donors among the alumni community.
  • Collaborate with the development team to create and implement fundraising strategies and campaigns.
  • Oversee stewardship activities, including impact reports, fellowship and scholarship coordination are done in a timely manner with Sr. Dev Asst.
  • Data Management and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of alumni engagement activities and update the alumni database regularly.
  • Analyze engagement data to assess the effectiveness of programs and initiatives and report findings to senior management.
