Summary :
Leads a team of wealth planning attorneys and other professionals responsible for designing and delivering solutions to NM’s high net-worth clients;
oversees daily operations related to delivery of wealth plans; contributes to development of and drives execution of SPS’ wealth planning strategy.
Serves as a right-hand person to the Vice President over wealth planning and plays a significant role in developing and implementing SPS growth strategies.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Lead and develop team of attorneys on Sophisticated Planning Strategies (SPS) wealth planning team; guides team through ongoing changes;
implements strategies to maximize team’s effectiveness; consult on high-profile and complex planning engagements.
- Provide ongoing training, mentoring, coaching and growth of the attorney team in application of complex planning concepts to wealth planning output.
- Oversee daily operations of the team, including review of wealth plans and other deliverables, reporting of outcomes, adherence to service levels, and enhancements of processes.
- Manage ongoing relationships with key advisors, obtain buy-in for services provided, and help develop and evolve SPS’ high net-worth offerings.
- Help drive resolution of high-profile issues and conflicts.
- Lead team initiatives that advance SPS and NM in the HNW market
- Oversee marketing communications and outreach to key advisors via targeted emails, announcements, marketing in other firm outlets, and the SPS digital magazine.
- Partner with teams across the enterprise to ensure quality planning coordination.
Qualifications :
- JD required. Additional advanced degree preferred, such as CFP, CPA or LLM
- Series 6 or 7 required
- Minimum of 12 years of wealth planning or similar experience in financial services industry, insurance company or law firm
- Extensive experience working directly with high net-worth clients in advanced estate and business planning, as well as tax-related planning.
- Excellent oral and written client-centric communication skills with the ability to present complex planning strategies and create training programs for financial advisors.
- Ability to build rapport, working with a variety of people across departments and disciplines.
- Demonstrated management skills and organizational skills required to develop new attorneys.
- Ability to travel periodically to conduct training, to attend industry conferences or conduct high-profile meetings.
