Physicians Billing
Work Shift :
Day (United States of America)Salary Range : $18.00 - $23.00
The cash poster is responsible to process all Third Party remittances, daily cash, adjustments, payment transfers, allowances, post denials, reconcile batches, and review account for refund processing.
Specific Responsibilities
Reconcile, review and prepare daily cash and Third Party remittances
Post self pay payments and credit cards
Review allowances for accuracy
Post appropriate denial codes applicable to explanation of benefits
Post refunds and adjustments
Review and process payment transfers
Reconcile the unapplied cash.
Contact insurance companies requesting detailed information regarding payments or take backs
Reconcile the 835 / ERA files
Work overtime as required
Qualifications :
Communication Skills :
Able to communicate effectively on a wide range of issues with internal and / or external customers for the purpose of supplying or seeking information related to performing job duties and may initiate follow-up actions.
Technological Skills :
Comfort with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word. Ability to efficiently and accurately enter monetary data into billing system software.
Able to operate a wide range of standard office equipment, including phone, fax, and printer.
Analytical Skills :
Ability to review, interpret and process Third Party and self pay remittances, including review and consideration of prior transactions and payer behavior within the billing system.
Education and Experience :
- High School Diploma
- Cash reconciliation or accounting experience preferred
- 1-2 years Third party billing and reimbursement experience preferred
- Excellent mathematical aptitude, data entry skills, organizational skills and detail oriented, and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of debits and credits
- Knowledge of electronic remittance advice and reconciliation
- Ability to interpret and understand allowances, adjustments and payment recoveries.
- Ability to work independently and assist others as necessary in order to meet deadlines
