Our client is a leader in the distribution construction sector for utility companies and has an exciting job for an Electric Utility Construction Estimator with a strong background estimating for distribution projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing cost estimates for electric utility construction projects and providing support to project managers throughout the project lifecycle.
This is a remote role that will report directly to the Vice President of Contracts. The position will prepare and present cost estimates by analyzing RFI / RFP documents and establishing takeoffs, schedules, and associated packages.
Candidates should have advanced knowledge of estimating techniques and the ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.
Individual shall have the ability to prepare complex proposals with minimal supervision. Good communication and interpersonal skills are required.
The applicant should have experience with Microsoft Office products, Knowledge of MS Project, and experience using B2W or similar estimating software.
Key Responsibilities :
- Review project plans and specifications to understand the scope of work and identify potential issues
- Perform take-offs and material quantity calculations
- Review bid documents and identify subcontractor and supplier bids
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment
- Review estimates with project managers and provide recommendations for cost savings
- Prepare proposal package information in a professional manner
- Assist with the preparation of project budgets and cost reports
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed
- Maintain accurate records of all estimates and cost data
Required :
- 5 plus years estimating distribution MSAs. his should include cost control, and or engineering experience related to distribution.
- Proficient in estimating software (Planswift or On-Screen Takeoff are ideal but others will be considered)
- Strong understanding of electrical construction principles and methods
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Pay range : $90,000 - $110,000
