Salary : Starting at $17 / hr - depending on experience / education
Job Summary :
Responsible for implementing the daily operating procedures of the Educational Program at Gardner. Responsible for assisting the Director in the coordination, direction and supervision of the educational support staff.
Responsible for the accountability and safety of all students.
Responsibilities :
Assists Director with all support staff accountability including but not limited to attendance, dress code policy and student engagement.
Assists with staffing for special programs and other relevant activities.
Ensures that all information relative to crisis prevention and intervention is properly documented. Reviews and signs off on Care Logic reports.
Serves on committees as assigned including Wellness.
Completes monthly fire drills and evacuation drills and completes necessary documentation.
Notifies Education Leadership team of all accidents / incidents and unusual incidents.
Delivers and documents deliveries daily.
Participates in quality assurance, safety and infection control activities.
Attends monthly meetings as assigned.
Organizes and monitors breakfast and lunch procedures including allergies and special diets.
Provides coverage for the front reception area when requested.
Assists with dismissal when requested.
Responsible for collecting daily attendance.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree; one year experience working with children / adolescents who have developmental disabilities, emotional or behavioral disorders; or
Two years of college, experience and a minimum of three years experience working with children / adolescents who have developmental disabilities, emotional or behavioral disorders; or
High School Diploma and a minimum of five years experience working with children / adolescents who have developmental disabilities, emotional or behavioral disorders.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication in the English language as well as adequate computer skills for report writing.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, be agile, physically pursue clients on foot, physically restrain, bend, squat, stretch, reach, push up and stand for several hours at a time.
