Our Sterile Processing department wants to add a Sterile Processing Tech to their great team. Our ideal candidate will have an understanding of the importance of sterile processing processes and procedures.

Previous sterile processing experience is highly preferred. 3 : 00 p.m. - 11 : 30 p.m., Monday - Friday 10 - 14 week department orientation from 7 : 00 a.

m. - 3 : 30 p.m. Rotating on-call, Saturday and Sunday if not otherwise needed Overview Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St.

The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St.

Louis Children’s Hospital. Missouri Baptist is the first and only hospital in St. Louis County to be named a Magnet® hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Louis metro area. The Central Sterile Processing Department at Missouri Baptist Medical Center is dedicated to providing its customers with courteous and reliable service.

Central Sterile Processing is responsible for the reprocessing of instrumentation and supply distribution for Surgical Services and other departments, such as Labor and Delivery and the Emergency Department.

Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose The Sterile Processing Technician performs a variety of central sterile processing functions, which include the decontamination, preparation, sterilization and distribution of sterile surgical instrumentation to the operating room (OR) and other areas throughout the hospital.

Required to maintain and control both sterile and non-sterile supplies, and identify and remedy equipment and process failures and hazards while maintaining the appropriate and complete records.

Responsibilities Assembles and processes instruments sets, trays, supplies and linen; prioritizes trays and tasks according to the surgery schedule.

Utilizes and troubleshoots steam sterilizers. Follows proper techniques and procedures to ensure the integrity of the sterilization process.

Disassembles, decontaminates, and processes instrumentation according to manufacturer and industry standards. Ensures instrumentation is reassembled correctly and functioning properly.
